Anstey Grove Barn is a beautifully converted barn set in over 20 acres of wildflower meadows, woodland and pasture in the glorious Hertfordshire countryside. The barn is set in its own walled garden with a formal herb patio, and is surrounded by broad leaf woodland and a wildflower meadow, home to a variety of flora and fauna. This is the English countryside at its best.
The barn, sitting in beautiful countryside, has 6 large, comfortable bedrooms and a well-stocked kitchen and lounge. The bedrooms have all been tastefully furnished and are all en-suite. Outside the house is a lovely walled garden which makes the barn feel wonderfully peaceful and secluded. The barn has been specifically converted to contain a large open fire in the lounge area, a garden for barbeques, boules or just relaxing, as well as the en-suite accomodation itself. And of course, there's the woodland and meadows on the farmland to explore before you even venture out for walks or the wealth of local pubs!
Set in idyllic rural Hertfordshire, surrounded by woods, meadows and country pubs, this barn is still in easy reach of London with all the fabulous sites such as Buckingham Palace, The Tower of London, St Pauls Cathedral and all the fantastic museums. If you want to venture out and explore, we are close to Cambridge where you can go punting, have afternoon tea on the backs and visit Kings college or one of the many other colleges in Cambridge. Also close by is the Duxford air museum with the fantastic collection of first and second world war aeroplanes and land warfare exhibition. Further Details
Andrew and Alice have been at Anstey Grove Barn for over 30 years, raising a family and running a farm in the heart of rural Hertfordshire. In 1980 they bought a working pig farm with 20 acres of land and began to build a family home. Within months the house was built, and within years a broadleaf wood was planted and wildflower meadow cultivated that have now come to be protected by the Hertfordshire Wildlife Trust. The working pig farm has now gone, but the wood, meadows, flock of free range hens and horses remain. In 2004 Alice and Andrew decided to convert the large Barn at the heart of the farm and create high quality bed and breakfast accommodation. Their intention has always been to provide a homely base from which families, couples and those just passing through can enjoy a break in the countryside exactly how they want to.
